Do you know what to do if a tornado is approaching your home?

The Caddo-Bossier Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management will be offering a free 20 hour Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training course at the Shreveport Fire Training Academy Theater starting Tuesday May 1, 2012 and running for three additional Tuesday nights from 6:00 P.M.

Operation Stand Down: Help for the homeless kicks off today

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Today, the Shreveport Chapter of the Salvation Army and the Veterans Affairs hospital team up for their 17th annual 'Operation Stand Down."

At the time of year when the temperatures begin to drop across the Ark-La-Tex, doors are opened for the areas homeless. Anyone who is homeless is welcome to get food and clothing at First United Methodist Church, located in downtown Shreveport.

The doors of the church will open at 8:00 a.m.

Keithville and Ellerbe Rd. areas under stringent water restriction

Due to extreme drought conditions, Caddo Parish officials are urging water conservation throughout the entire parish, not only the area with the ground water emergency.

Keithville and the Ellerbe Road area are facing emergency conditions and are under more stringent water restrictions.
