Car crashes into south Shreveport paint store

There were some tense moments at a south Shreveport paint store when a car crashed through the front of the building. An 85-year-old woman said she accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the brake, and drove her Cadillac through the front window of the Sherwin-Williams Paint store in the 300 block of Bert Kouns. There were two other passengers in the car at the time. No on in the car or in the store was injured.

Semi driver hurt after wind knocks over 18-wheeler

The driver of this 18-wheeler suffered minor injuries Wednesday afternoon when his tractor-trailer was hit by a gust of wind, blowing it off the road and onto its side. It happened on Hwy. 175 just west of Hwy. 1. The trailer was empty when it crashed. The driver went to Willis-Knighton Pierremont for treatment. One lane of the road was blocked for a short time while a heavy tow truck cleared the scene.

Caddo deputy discovers deceased driver in wrecked pickup

CADDO PARISH, LA (KSLA) - A driver was found dead Monday morning inside his overturned pickup truck by a Caddo Parish Sheriff's deputy on routine patrol.

The wrecked pickup was found around 12:30 a.m. in the 9600 block of Buncombe Rd., near Coor Rd.

Lakeview United Methodist Church in Shreveport is offering a Driver's Safety Course. This four-hour course will often result in a lowering of your automobile insurance rate.  Cost is $12 for AARP members and for Non-AARP members it is $14.
