Bossier Parish Community College Chancellor Jim Henderson and Northwestern State University President Randall Webb will be signing an academic agreement today between the two colleges.

The agreement will conclude a two-year effort to articulate all of NSU’s baccalaureate degrees with a BPCC associate degree.  

The agreement and signing will take place March 13th at 3:30 p.m. at BPCC in building A, room 230.

With March being National Nutrition Month, the Caddo Parish Child Nutrition Program and Shreveport Dietetics Association are hosting a health fair and nutrition information event. The theme is "Rising to the Challenge of a Healthier Lifestyle." The groups say the event is meant to show parents and their children healthier ways to live. The program is from 9:30 a.m - 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 17 in the Fellowship Hall of the Oakmont Church of God in Christ, located at 5925 W. 70th Street. Shreveport Public Assembly & Recreation (SPAR) along with Academy Sports & Outdoors presents a Slam Dunk Contest & Concert on Friday, February 24, 2012 at 7:30pm at Southern University Shreveport.  The event will be hosted by Radio Station KMJJ DJ Dougie Styles. Performing will be hip-hop group SJ Boyz.  Admission to the event is free.
