The 25th annual Greening of the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Nov. 29. This year's theme is "Celebrating 200 Years of Louisiana."

The American Federation of Musicians, Local 116, and the Band House Music Store are presenting a big band jazz concert and clinic on Tuesday, Nov. 27, at Parkway High School.
Admission is free to students and $5.00 for adults. The band will be comprised of local musicians along with a number of regionally and nationally known clinicians and performers.

Shelby Paine, a junior at Captain Shreve High School, won first place in the Oratory Contest at the Southern Association of Student Councils (SASC) Conference in Orlando, FL.
Six scholars have been named by the LSU Shreveport Department of Communications' fall 2012 Scholars in Communication. Students are chosen by the faculty from Mass Communication and Speech. The look for majors who have records of outstanding academic achievement and professional accomplishment.
History scholars from across the United States, Europe and Asia, will meet at LSUS for a comprehensive discussion about one of our former presidents. A three-day international conference on “The Life, Times and Legacy of Theodore Roosevelt” will be held at LSU Shreveport on October 18, 19 & 20.
The Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts will hold an informational meeting in Shreveport at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 9 for prospective students and their parents. The meeting will be held at the Carol Anglin Dance Center in Pierremont Mall, Room #18, located at 4801 Line Avenue.
