LA School for Math, Science and Arts hosting informational meeting

The Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts will hold an informational meeting in Shreveport  at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 9 for prospective students and their parents.  The meeting will be held at the Carol Anglin Dance Center in Pierremont Mall, Room #18, located at 4801 Line Avenue.

The Louisiana School, located in Natchitoches, is the only state-funded residential high school for high achieving and highly motivated sophomores, juniors, and seniors.  Each year students from all over the state seek admission.  Students from public, private, and parochial schools, as well as those who are home schooled, are encouraged to apply.  Admission is highly competitive. The Louisiana School offers college level classes in a disciplined, nurturing environment. Students are exposed to rich opportunities through an extensive curriculum in all subject areas.

Named a Blue Ribbon High School by The U.S. Department of Education, LSMSA has articulation agreements with a majority of the colleges in the University of Louisiana system.  Each university will give credit to LSMSA graduates for certain general education courses, including English, history, languages, and math and sciences.  The scope of the courses and the number of semester hours of credit vary from institution to institution.

For further information about the Louisiana School, contact our Admissions Department at 1-800-259-3173, visit our website at www.LSMSA.edu, or visit the school’s Facebook page at Facebook.com/LSMSA.
