"Athletics at Chimp Haven" is the theme for September's Chimpanzee Discovery Day at Chimp Haven. The event is from 9 a.m. until noon on Saturday, September 17. Chimp Haven is located in the Eddie D. Jones Nature Park off of Hwy. 789 in Keithville.

A bake sale for Yogie and Friends Exotic Cat Sanctuary, Louisiana's only rescue for large, exotic cats, be from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 10th at Petco, 6596 Youree Drive. There will be lots of baked goods for people and pets, homemade jellies, cakes, and more as well as Yogie and Friends gift merchandise such as Cardew Collectible Ceramics. 100% of the proceeds from this event goes to the care of the big cats. The Caddo Sheriff's Office is looking for the owners of two stray animals found loose in south Caddo Parish. Deputies corralled an Appaloosa mare this past Thursday on Jolly Napier Road. Earlier this week, a spotted male donkey was caught on Keith Road near Colquitt. If the animals are not claimed by their owners they will be sold at auction.
