LSUS Dir. of Online Learning awarded Professional Trainer of the Year | People

Tulin Melancon, director of Online Learning & Faculty Development at LSU Shreveport, has been named 2012 Professional Trainer of the Year by the North Louisiana chapter of the American Society of Training & Development (ASTD).
The award is presented each year to an exceptional individual working in the field of training and development whose primary responsibility is the delivery of training. Melancon’s duties include the development of all online planning, training, delivery and communications for LSU Shreveport’s online educational presence. Each semester she co-teaches a six-week Online Instruction Program to LSUS faculty to prepare new online instructors to teach their first online course. She provides instructional and technical support to online faculty and students, reviews existing online courses and provides feedback, coaching and mentoring. She has taught college level courses face-to-face in the classroom and online. In addition, Melancon teaches non-credit cooking classes through the LSUS Department of Continuing Education. She is a past board member of ASTD.
