Family forced out home by early morning fire

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - A South Shreveport family was forced out of their home early Friday morning after a fire broke out in their garage.

The fire was reported around 2 a.m. at a home in the 1600 block of Juniper St., which is located right off of Kingston Rd.

Firefighters say the fire appeared to have originated in the garage near the water heater.

CADDO PARISH, LA (KSLA) - A driver was found dead Monday morning inside his overturned pickup truck by a Caddo Parish Sheriff's deputy on routine patrol.

The wrecked pickup was found around 12:30 a.m. in the 9600 block of Buncombe Rd., near Coor Rd.

No one injured in South Broadmoor fire

A south Shreveport homeowner, her family members and a pet escaped uninjured from a Friday afternoon fire at her home. The fire started about 2:00 p.m. in the 100 block of India St. in the South Broadmoor area. Fire crews say the fire started in the kitchen, then spread to the laundry room, garage and attic. Firefighters had the fire under control in about 10 minutes. So far there's no word on how the fire started.
