Major accident on Youree Dr. at E. Flournoy
SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA)- Shreveport police and fire crews responded to a major accident with injuries at Youree Drive and E. Flournoy Lucas Thursday morning.
The head-on collision happened around 11:20 a.m. Police on the scene believe a pickup truck ran a red light and hit a utility truck heading south on Youree Drive. The exact cause of the wreck is still under investigation, however.
SFD Sgt. Fred Sanders confirms a 70-year-old man was thrown from one of the vehicles and was taken to LSU Health. The victim was originally believed to have suffered life-threatening injuries when he was thrown from his truck, but police now say he is expected to survive.
