Mayor Glover announces the return of Summer Intern/Jobs program

Today, Shreveport Mayor Cedric Glover will announce the return of the City’s summer jobs program for youths and young adults.

A news conference is scheduled for 10 a.m. in the Mayor’s conference room on the second floor of Government Plaza.

The highlight of the program this year is the return of summer interns. This internship is geared toward undergraduate and graduate students who will be placed in various City departments.

LSUS students protest merger

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA)- A group of students protested the LSUS and LA Tech merger today on the campus of LSUS.

Students posted signs along all of the roadways and parking lots on campus against the merger. The students hope that the signs will raise awareness about the possible loss of the LSUS identity and increase school spirit as well.  

The merger idea came as a result of a report, presented by Eva Klein and Associates. The report outlined several recommendations to better achieve a comprehensive, public four-year university for the Shreveport-Bossier area.
