The American Cancer Society is seeking companies who would like to participate in the life-changing Relay For Life event in Caddo Parish.

University Elem. hosts Wildcat 5K Walk/Run

University Elem. hosts Wildcat 5K Walk/Run

Members of University Elementary's Parent-Teacher Association will host its first ever Wildcat 5K Walk/Run in February of next year.

Organizers of the event hope to raise money for more technology for the elementary school. 

The event is scheduled for Saturday, February 4, 2012 on the campus of LSU-Shreveport. There will be 1/2 Mile Fun Run, which will kick off at 8:00 a.m.

Deadline for school district recipe contest extended

Krewe de les Femmes  Mystique,along with the LSU AgCenter and the Northwest Chapter of the Louisiana Restaurant Association, has extended the deadline for submission of recipes for the Healthy School Lunch Contest. 

Pair of boil advisories for Eagle Water System lifted

Pair of boil advisories for Eagle Water System lifted

The Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals has lifted 2 boil advisories that were issued by Eagle Water during the first part of this week. The boil advisory for the Springlake Mobile Home Park in North Shreveport as well as the advisory for the Meadowwoods Subdivision in Keithville have both been lifted.

Both samples collected by the Department of Health and Hospitals were tested and found to be safe.
