Family History Assistance Day coming to Broadmoor Library | Events

In celebration of Genealogy Education Month, the Ark-La-Tex Genealogical Association and the Broadmoor Branch Library Genealogy Department will sponsor a Family History Assistance Day on Saturday, March 3 at the Broadmoor Branch Library, 1212 Captain Shreve Drive. Registration begins at 9:00 A.M. in the large meeting room. In the morning there will be two “Family History Skills” presentations.  After a lunch break, the participants will return to the library genealogy department for an “Afternoon at the Library”.

All participants need do is collect known information about their ancestors, write it down and bring it with them.  Useful information is birth, marriage, and death dates and places (if applicable) for at least parents and grandparents.  Volunteers will then use that information to help the participant begin research for additional information.

Volunteer researchers and library personnel will be on hand to help participants do actual research for their family history.  Everyone is welcome and the meeting is free and open to the public.  For more information and to register for the event contact:  Broadmoor Branch Library Genealogy Dept.
