Shreveport Police took a man in custody early Monday morning accused of beating a fast food clerk during an overnight robbery.

The alleged crime happened around 1:30 a.m. Monday morning at the Burger King restaurant on Bert Kouns, near Interstate 49.

Police say the employee was closing the restaurant when a man forced his way in and attacked the clerk, demanding money from a safe.

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Shreveport Police arrested two men early Friday morning after they reportedly led police on an overnight car chase.

The chase began when police attempted to initiate a traffic stop with the suspects on Bert Kouns near Southern Hills Park.

Officers reportedly followed the suspects at a high rate of speed until the driver crashed into a light pole at a dead end near the Newcast Subdivision. That's when police say the suspect jumped out of the crashed out car and took off running.

A speeding motorcyclist crashes hard in South Shreveport early Friday morning.

According to Shreveport Police the biker was traveling 100 miles per hour on East Bert Kouns Industrial Loop near the Highway 3132 exit when he lost control of his bike. The motorcycle then reportedly slid approximately 525 feet before crashing.

Fortunately for the biker, police say he was wearing protective gear, but still suffered serious road rash and broken bones.
