Former Highland Clinic receptionist arrested for theft | Crime

Caddo Parish Sheriff Steve Prator says a former receptionist at the Highland Clinic was arrested Monday for stealing cash received from patients.

Prator says 29-year-old Laura Ferrell was arrested on a warrant obtained by Sheriff’s Detective Bobby Herring after an investigation showed Ferrell was stealing cash payments and changing computer records to hide the thefts.

Herring says patients began complaining when they were turned over to the collection office. The clinic conducted an audit, which led to the discovery of the missing cash and deleted computer records. Herring says Ferrell stole $4,946.

Ferrell was taken to the Caddo Correctional Center and charged with felony theft.
