Man arrested in connection with two burglaries

A Shreveport man is in jail for breaking into two residences - one where a family was sleeping.

Caddo Parish Sheriff Steve Prator says 18-year-old Jordan Brett Bowlin was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center on Thursday for a residential burglary on February 11th in the 500 block of Harris Lane and another residential burglary on February 7th in the 400 block of Goldsberry Circle.

Deputies say at the Harris Lane residence, the homeowner was awakened by a security alarm around 3:20 a.m. He checked the house and noticed only an open side garage door. Around 9 a.m., the same morning, his wife's purse was found in the trash at a convenience store at Bert Kouns and I-49. "Video from the store showed a man in a black vehicle disposing of the purse," says arresting Caddo Parish Sheriff's Detective Terry Richardson.

Bowlin was later identified as the driver of that vehicle after police say they learned that the same vehicle was involved in a traffic stop by Caddo Parish Sheriff's Deputy Robert Presley four days earlier.

Bowlin also is accused of breaking into the Goldsberry Circle home and stealing firearms and other items.

Prator says additional arrests in both cases are pending.
