Shreveport Diocese holding Mass to honor emergency responders | Community Spirit

The Diocese of Shreveport will hold its 11th Annual Blue Mass at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, August 24 at St. Mary of the Pines Church, 1050 Bert Kouns Industrial Loop.

The annual Blue Mass honors area Law Enforcement Officers, Firefighters and Emergency Personal.

The Mass is open to all who wish to gain greater community awareness of our emergency responders, while expressing our appreciation and support to the men and women who sacrifice so much to serve the people of our region.

The first Blue Mass within the Diocese of Shreveport was celebrated in 2002, and remains an important yearly event in our area.  Along with honoring these critical personnel, the Blue Mass allows the opportunity for people to pray for their safety and pay special remembrance to all who have fallen in the line of duty.
