SPD to host youth basketball camp
The Shreveport Police Department is hosting an annual three-day Youth Basketball Camp.
Shreveport Police Department Sgt. Bill Goodin says the camp will be held at the Southern Hills Park Community Center on Bert Kouns Industrial Loop and will last from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. on July 18th through July 20th.
Goodin says the camp is designed to encourage character development in children ages six to 17-years-old. The instructional time community liaison officers will spend with the youths is tailored to help them develop athletically as well as enhance their abilities to embrace an appreciation of good sportsmanship and a healthy respect for others.
