Shreveport Symphony kicks off chamber music series | Arts & Culture
The Shreveport Symphony Orchestra (SSO) will launch its new Noel Foundation, Inc. Chamber Music Series at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 27, in Anderson Auditorium at Centenary College’s Hurley School of Music. Guest pianist Jon Nakamatsu will perform with SSO musicians in an intimate setting.
The program is expected to run approximately one hour without intermission. It is free and open to the public, with general admission seating.
“A chamber music series is a unique opportunity to showcase the talents of our orchestra members and guest artists in an intimate ‘up close and personal’ way. It will also allow us to extend our reach into the community, since it is possible to present programs of this type in many different venues that could not accommodate the full orchestra. We are so grateful to the Noel Foundation for generously funding this exciting development in our musical offerings to the Shreveport-Bossier area,” said Lois Robinson, SSO’s executive director.
