SPAR choirs combine for State Fair performance | Arts & Culture
Shreveport Public Assembly and Recreation Senior Community Choirs will combine to perform at the Louisiana State Fair Senior Day.
The free performance is set to begin at 9:15 a.m. at the Hirsch Memorial Coliseum on the State Fairgrounds.
Combining to perform as a mass choir will be the A. B. Palmer Community Choir, Airport Park Community Choir, David Raines Community Choir and Hattie Perry Community Choir.
Choirs Pianists/Directors/Directresses include Steven Dinkins (A.B. Palmer), Brenda McCray-Richardson (Airport Park), Kenneth Cornelius (Interim - David Raines) and Jackie Solomon (Hattie Perry).
Jackie Solomon will direct the combined mass choir for the performance.
The fourth annual “Senior Day at the State Fair” event will take place on Thursday, October 25, 2012 from 10:00am to 3:00pm in the Hirsch Coliseum located at 3701 Hudson Avenue in the Louisiana State Fair Grounds in Shreveport. This event is presented by The Best of Times – senior newsmagazine and radio show, and The State Fair of Louisiana.
Though admission is free for this event, attendees are asked to help those in need by bringing one or more canned goods or non-perishable items. Those items will be donated to the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana and can be dropped off at the registration booth located inside of the main entrance of the Hirsch Coliseum.
