Vendor registration has begun for the Fall 2012 Texas Avenue Makers Fair. The bi-annual event is set for November 10 with vendors setting up shop along the 800 block of Texas Avenue in downtown Shreveport.
Anyone wanting to be a part of the event has until midnight, October 31 to sign up. There's a limited number of space available. Registration information can be found at www.texasavemakersfair.com.
The event, sponsored by the Texas Avenue Community Association, is described by organizers as “not your momma’s craft fair.” Admission is free.
The Texas Avenue Makers Fair invites non-traditional crafters, or "makers," to offer their handmade and re-purposed items for sale to the public. Original artwork, hand crafted furniture, clothing and accessories, limited edition graphics, and made-from-scratch food are only a few of the items offered by participating vendors at past events.
TACA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the mission of which is to organize and promote community and community interest along the historic Texas Avenue corridor and its adjacent neighborhoods. For more information on TACA, visit www.texasave.org.
