Tickets are now on sale for the Shreveport Little Theater's production of 'Hairspray'.

Performances are set for July 29 & 30 and August 5 & 6 at 7:30 p.m. and July 31 & August 7 at 2:00 p.m. The theater is located at 812 Margaret Place.

Caddo Sheriff's Office looking for owners of stray animals

The Caddo Sheriff's Office is looking for the owners of two stray animals found loose in south Caddo Parish. Deputies corralled an Appaloosa mare this past Thursday on Jolly Napier Road. Earlier this week, a spotted male donkey was caught on Keith Road near Colquitt. If the animals are not claimed by their owners they will be sold at auction. LSU Shreveport named 15th Most Affordable College in Nation

The U.S. Department of Education and the College Affordability and Transparency Center released rankings showing LSU Shreveport as the fifteenth-ranked university with the lowest net price for public, four-year institutions in the United States. This also makes LSUS the most affordable college in the State of Louisiana.

The net price is defined as the average price of attendance paid by full-time students after subtraction of grants and scholarships.

The Shreveport Police Department’s annual Youth Basketball Camp is slated for Tuesday, July 19, 2011.

The camp will be held at the Southern Hills Park Community Center located in the 1000 block of Bert Kouns Industrial Loop and will run from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.

Dr. Johnette McCrery has been named Interim Vice Chancellor of University Development at LSU Shreveport. A former LSUS Communications faculty member and graduate of the MLA program, McCrery returns to the University with extensive experience in both print and broadcast journalism, public affairs, and community relations.

Prior to her appointment, she served as the Publisher for SB Magazine and was responsible for all operations within the magazine.
