Tickets for the musical "Hairspray" now on sale

Tickets are now on sale for the Shreveport Little Theater's production of 'Hairspray'.

Performances are set for July 29 & 30 and August 5 & 6 at 7:30 p.m. and July 31 & August 7 at 2:00 p.m. The theater is located at 812 Margaret Place.

Louisiana State Exhibit Museum hosts triva game

The Louisiana State Exhibit Museum will host a trivia game Saturday, with a focus on Shreveport history.

Contestants are invited to participate in the upcoming “Shreveport Trivia Quiz” which will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 30 at the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum located at 3015 Greenwood Road in Shreveport.

Those who wish to participate in the event should regester an hour before the show. Radio talk show hosts, Tom Pace and Gary Calligas will emcee this quiz. Finalists will win some fabulous prizes.

The Shreveport Little Theatre Academy will hold auditions for The Laramie Project by Moises Kaufman in August.

The Laramie Project is a dramatic work about the reaction to the 1998 murder of a University of Wyoming student Matthew Shepard in Laramie, Wyoming.

Summer Grove Baptist Church is hosting Divorce Care, a 12-week recovery and support group. This is for people who are separated or divorced to find information on ways to manage the situation. The class begins Sunday, August 14. It runs from 4:30 - 5:50 p.m. in room 2 S. The church is located at 8924 Jewella Avenue (the old South Park Mall). There is free child care with pre-registration.
